Computing Invasive Species Population Based on a Generalized Random Walk Process: Application to Blue Crab (Callinectes sapidus)

Animal population abundance is a significant parameter for studies on invasive species that can threaten the ecosystem. Researchers have been developing estimation methods since 18th century, in order to evaluate species’ evolution and environmental effects. However, density of Callinectes sapidus are very limited. The present work, using simulation model combined with field measurements, examines an innovative methodology estimating current shallow Mediterranean coastal lagoon. presented here builds first stage modeling predicting this marine environments. model’s results validated total based juvenile abundance, curvature cage catch implemented. experiments show possibility robust prediction blue crab estimation.
